Things to Do

From the doorstep of Bad Daraich, guests can easily walk to the harbour front in less than ten minutes, bearing in mind the return will be uphill, and may therefore take a little longer. In the opposite direction, guests can walk along the single track road and footpath to the nine hole golf course, which sits atop the cliffs above the town and again, has magnificent views.

Tobermory is a lovely base for a family holiday. It is small enough to explore on foot, but large enough to facilitate an arts centre; museum and small theatre on the outskirts of the town. There is a really good array of gift shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants to enjoy, and some lovely walks along the woodland paths that lead off from either end of the sheltered bay. Fishing and pleasure boats come and go from the harbour and the local seafood and produce on offer in the restaurants is highly recommended. Don't forget a tour of the distillery too.

When you have explored the town there is much more to Mull further afield. We recommend a wildlife, photography tour or boat trip. There are guided walks too if you like to explore on foot and forestry trails, coastal paths and rugged scenery. Make sure you bring some sturdy footwear and a pair of binoculars. Cyclists will love the narrow windy roads, which weave in amongst some fabulous scenery. A day trip to one of the outlying isles of Staffa, Iona or the Treshnish islands is a memorable way to spend a day.
