Tobermory Explore the area, things to do and more

Spey Cottage is located on one of Tobermory’s most iconic streets, lined with colourfully painted houses above the harbour. Inside this traditional, stone-built cottage, guests will discover beautifully presented and characterful interiors, making it a great base for experiencing the charms of Mull’s harbour town and the wild landscapes beyond.

Entering Spey Cottage, you’re greeted by a spacious entrance hall with useful storage for coats and boots. The layout flows easily, with the living room on your left before the staircase leads upwards.

A well-proportioned room, the living room promises a cosy setting to gather around the wood burning stove and relax into the comfortable leather sofas. A good range of entertainments are provided, including a high definition television; range of books; music system and children's toys – rivalling the range of attractions, including the museum, aquarium and distillery, that await on the Main Street.

The spacious kitchen and dining room is found across the hall. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and a great range of cooking utensils, which combine with the abundant natural light to make cooking a pleasure. The dining table seats up to six, with good quality tableware provided.

Guests will also discover the handy utility area and drying space on the ground floor, which leads up a few steps into the prettily planted back garden.

Moving upstairs, there are two elegantly presented and spacious double bedrooms, one of which has a sofa bed, so can be set as a twin room upon request. Both bedrooms are well furnished with lamps, cushions and good quality furniture. Plenty of storage space is provided for your belongings, and high-quality bedding promises a peaceful night’s sleep. Both bedrooms have views towards the harbour too.

The family bathroom is also conveniently located upstairs. Immaculately clean and stylishly modern, the bathroom features a full-sized bath, power shower, w.c. and hand basin. Lovely soap from a local maker is provided and again, there are enchanting views toward the sea.

Spey is a lovely traditional cottage that has been thoughtfully modernised. The carefully chosen furnishings add a touch of luxury, which will suit couples and family groups alike. Outside, the garden is a lovely private spot to relax in - an ideal place to enjoy a spot of sunshine, a meal outside on the patio or even a barbecue.

From the doorstep, it’s a short walk down to the harbourfront, where a wealth of cafes, restaurants and artisan shops await. There are also lovely walks to the lighthouse or to explore the coast around to Aros Park, and boat trips departing from the pontoons. Calgary Beach lies a 40-minute drive to the west, with Duart Castle a similar journey to the south.
