A spacious and comfortable lodge in an idyllic location with absolutely stunning, panoramic views, Scandinavian-style Auchnacraig Lodge offers spacious accommodation for up to five people and is a magnet for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers.
The White-Tailed Sea Eagles are regularly seen all year round, along with the golden eagles, sparrow hawks, short eared owls and hen harriers. There are also waders and sea birds around Lochdon estuary and the rocky coastline to look out for. As the many repeat guests to Auchnacraig Lodge have pointed out, this property feels like a luxurious wildlife hide!
The views out of the large windows frame a panorama that is hard to beat. From the distant snow-capped peak of Ben Nevis, much of Scotland's finest mountain country is visible along the horizon line behind the sea.
The ridges of woodland that run from the lodge to the sea have SSSI status and are home to a vast array of birdlife, as well as providing refuge for the red deer population that is frequently seen right in front of the lodge. You don't need to worry about making conversation over dinner, you'll be too busy marvelling at the sight of these wild animals just 50 yards away.
The lodge is a well-appointed and comfortable family home, well equipped for self-catering, and an ideal base for a visit to the island. The large, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area also opens directly onto a large raised balcony, which has outdoor furniture for eating outside, and is a real sun trap. Catch a sunny evening here and you've got one of the best locations for alfresco dining on the entire island.
The lodge is set in fenced, mature gardens at the end of a gravel drive. The Lodge has an adjoining annex which is occasionally used by the owner's family. It is a truly magical place to spend a week or two - a great place to unwind, soak up the scenery and explore the island from.
The king-sized double room has a large en-suite bathroom, complete with deep bath and a large, luxurious walk-in shower. The twin room has its own separate bathroom with bath and shower above it.

Living Area: Large open plan living area with dining table to seat six comfortably. Flatscreen television with satellite television and DVD player. Doors to wooden decking off the living area with outside seating overlooking the countryside.
Kitchen: Open plan kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, toaster & kettle. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and drying rack.
Bedrooms: King sized master double (ensuite) and twin room (with separate bathroom). There is an additional single bed available in a room adjacent to the twin room. Hair dryer provided.
Bathroom: The en-suite has a deep bath, large separate shower cubicle, w.c. and basin. There is an additional bathroom with a bath (with shower over), basin and w.c.
Garden: Lovely fenced garden lawns and mature shrubs and trees. Access is shared by neighbouring property (occupied from time to time).
Heating: Electric storage heaters.
Wood Burning Stove: There is a basket of logs provided on arrival with more logs available free of charge (information in the house when you arrive).
Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels.
