A coastal cocoon brimming with curios curated from the deep, the Sea Shanty is a celebration of this corner of Mull’s stunning coastline. Nestled into a thriving island croft gazing out towards the Sound of Iona, this surprising sea view hideaway welcomes guests into a shore-inspired sanctuary, where accents of white-washed shiplap and sloping ceilings gently echo a boat’s interior. A nautical theme that ripples throughout the luxe cabin, from the sea-faring gallery wall to the driftwood chandelier.

Perfectly crafted for two, this luxe take on a petite cabin brings charm and indulgence by the bucket load. The experience begins with a walk along the prettily planted boardwalk delivering instant vitamin sea.
Inside, you’ll find yourselves enveloped in island-inspired interiors, which, despite their cosy proportions, feel bright and airy as the sea breeze drifts past walls decorated in tones of sea salt and blue.

Entering straight into the living room, throw open the patio doors and unwind after the journey with a soak in the hot tub as the sun sets to the west, before slipping into complimentary slippers and spa robe to retreat within the comfort of the cabin at nightfall. The living room promises cosy nooks to sit back and soak up the view, from the sofa and armchair to the chaise longue, and for wilder days as you watch storms roll in, plenty of page-turners to inspire too.

The snug bedroom nestles to the back of the Sea Shanty with lovely views to the Ardmeanach Peninsula and Ben More beyond, with just enough room to stow your belongings in the built-in wardrobe and sink into the plush double bed.

Next door lies the compact but perfectly appointed shower room, complete with WC, basin and shower, as well as a heated towel rail.

Continuing the cabin’s boat-like feel, the galley kitchen promises everything you need to cook up the catch of the day, with an under-counter fridge with freezer drawer, contemporary electric oven and hob and even a well-stocked spice rack so you feel truly at home.

Treat yourselves after a walk over the hill to Tor Mor’s secluded shell-sand beach with an indulgent milkshake from the dedicated machine. Or, tuck into an outstanding seafood lunch hamper and put the Champagne bucket to good use, hand-created by the cabin owners who run the island’s highly esteemed, fine dining restaurant, Ninth Wave, and available to guests by request at the Sea Shanty.

And the epicurean indulgence doesn’t end there, with a DeLonghi espresso machine promising the perfect caffeinated kick to each morning as you watch fishing boats head through the Sound, before enjoying a signature Scottish breakfast hamper, lovingly created by the owners on request for you to cook up a feast featuring croft-grown produce, organic meat and eggs and the tantalising aroma of a freshly baked loaf.

Whether you choose to escape it all and while away the hours with a soak in the sea view, massage hot tub, or set out to immerse yourselves in all that this corner of Mull and its surrounding isles has to offer, the Sea Shanty promises the perfect romantic hideaway to make your base.
