Grasspoint Explore the area, things to do and more

Stable Cottage is a detached, converted steading at the old farm buildings at Ardnadrochet on the road to Grasspoint. This is a superb area renowned for the wildlife, so if you’re hoping to spot soaring sea eagles overhead or passing porpoises in the sea, this is the place to be. From its elevated position, this Mull holiday cottage has nice views of the surrounding mountains, and some excellent walking available from the doorstep. Ardnadrochet Cottage is situated in the same courtyard setting, should you have additional friends or family joining you.

Entering this self-catering cottage, there is handy space for boots and coats and then double doors lead through to the hall. With an upside-down layout, the bedrooms can all be found here on the ground floor. There is a double with a spacious king-sized bed, as well as a twin room and single bedroom here. The family bathroom with a toilet, basin and bath (shower over) is also conveniently located on the ground floor.

A staircase leads upstairs where there is a large open-plan living and kitchen/dining area. The three large Velux windows make this a very light and airy space. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering purposes with a dining table and chairs and the living area has comfortable seating, a bookcase with some reading material and television with freeview channels. Wireless internet access is also provided.

Just five minutes’ walk away from the cottage leads to Loch Glennain, a beautiful freshwater loch nestled in a natural ‘bowl’ with hills hugging its sides. A short walk in the other direction leads to a superb lookout, with panoramic views of Mull and the surrounding seas, and the mountains of the mainland beyond – a great place to set up a telescope and watch the wildlife.

The nearest shop is in Craignure, a small village just a 15-minute drive away, where there is also a cafe, pub serving meals and the swimming pool and golf course. Duart Castle is also close by with its tearoom and beautiful vantage point. Parking is available directly outside the cottage.
