Tilliepestle sits nestled into trees with views over the surrounding fields and hills that surround the village of Dervaig on the Isle of Mull’s north coast. The house is located in the heart of the village, just opposite The Bellachroy - the oldest inn on Mull, and is only a few minutes' stroll from the edge of Loch Cuin, a tidal loch with a rocky coastline and home to some of Mull's fantastic wildlife.

Sleeping six people, Tilliepestle is a beautiful building combining timber beams and detailed stonework, to give the house an inviting and unique aesthetic. The house sits within an enclosed garden that is a mix of gravelled areas, timber decking and planters, with a couple of outdoor seating areas to take in the views. Tilliepestle is also for those wanting to enjoy both the wild and natural beauty of Mull, whilst having the convenience and facilities of one of Mull’s most attractive villages.

There is parking space for several cars within the grounds of the cottage and you enter the property via the impressive stone arched double doors. The house has a contemporary interior - a blend of brick finished internal walls and soft and comfortable furnishings, which make guests feel at home.

On the ground floor you will find a spacious family bathroom and a twin bedroom with views to the fields next door to it. There is also a utility room, with space for storing belongings too. The hall then leads into the ground floor sitting area, a beautifully furnished space with a selection of books and games to enjoy and a childrens' area with books, games and toys. A set of double doors open to the garden and decking area which has set of table and chairs provided, and a barbeque area. It is a great little sun trap and a private space in which to enjoy the outdoors.

Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The en-suite has a shower unit, basin and w.c. Quality bedding and linen are provided for your stay, and the house has oil fired central heating to keep you warm and cosy.

Timber stairs lead to the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. This is a wonderful space with high vaulted ceilings and exposed timber beams. The kitchen is very well equipped for self-catering holidays, and there are great countryside views toward Kilmore church from the double doors, which can be opened on warm days.

The living area is a relaxing space in which to cosy up, and benefits from dual aspect windows – the larger of which has double doors that lead onto the covered balcony space, which is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine or a coffee, in one of the rocking chairs provided.

Also upstairs is a second double bedroom, another very pleasant room with garden views and an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has an extra door, so that it can be used while people are in the upstairs living area.

Guests staying at Tilliepestle will love the relaxing and unique layout of the house and the attention to detail that has gone into making this a really special holiday property. You can also benefit from the proximity of the village facilities such as the excellent village shop a short walk away, the local artisan bakery and the neighbouring Bellachroy Inn, which is the oldest inn on the island and a great place to enjoy a meal and a beverage after a day's exploring.

Tobermory Mull’s main town lies less than 20 minutes to the east, whilst Calgary, one of Mull’s most well known sandy beaches only fifteen minutes to the west. Boat trips can also be taken to Staffa and Treshnish Isles and the Isle of Ulva is a great day trip too.


Property Overview

Open Plan Living Area: On the upper floor of the property is the large open plan kitchen and living area. The living room has a television with freeview channels, DVD player, CD player and radio and selection of books.

Kitchen: The fitted kitchen with breakfast bar is fully equipped with kettle, toaster, American style fridge freezer with ice machine, dishwasher, food processor, microwave, hand blender, cafetiere and baking equipment. There is a range cooker with five plates, two ovens and a separate grill. There is an additional quarter chest freezer in the boiler room where the washing machine and dryer are housed.

Sitting Room: There is a sitting area of the ground floor is a great space with a selection of books and games to enjoy and a great area for children with boards games and a toy box provided.

Bedrooms: There is a double bedroom (standard sized bed) and a twin bedroom (two single beds) on the ground floor of Tilliepestle and a further double bedroom on the first floor (also has a standard sized double bed). Hair dryer provided.

Bathrooms: There is a family bathroom on the ground floor with bath, shower over, basin and w.c. The two double bedrooms in the property both have en-suite bathrooms with shower, basin and w.c.

Garden: The garden is fully fenced all round and there is decking to the side of the property, overlooking the field in front of the hosuse. Webber gas barbecue. Plenty of car parking space.

Heating: Oil fired central heating and heated towel rails in the bathrooms.

Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and towels are provided for your stay.

Extras: There is wireless internet access at the property. This is a clothes rack, ironing board and iron provided. There is also a cot at the property as well as a child booster seat.
