A charming crofter’s cottage with a truly astonishing view, you’ll find it hard to peel your eyes from the windows when you escape to Tostary Cottage.

A phenomenal west coast setting, the cottage overlooks Loch Tuath and the island of Ulva, with the National Scenic Area of Loch na Keal in the distance, with towering munro, Ben More, as the centrepiece. Outlying islands, miles of coastline, Mull’s striking mountain peaks and turquoise-blue waters bring the best of every view to your fingertips here - as well as the island's exceptional wildlife that calls these land and seascapes home.

Your excitement will build as you approach the cottage, winding along the west coast single-track road with stunning vistas over the sea to Ulva and Gometra, before traversing the zig-zag driveway that delivers you to higher elevations and the superb setting of Tostary Cottage.

As soon as you step out of the car, you'll be immediately captivated by the phenomenal view, with the feeling that you're almost perched on the top of the world (or at least the island!). It would be easy to forgo unpacking and make a beeline for the aptly positioned picnic bench, binoculars in hand, to while away and hour or two. However we recommend you venture inside, because the views come with you!

Inside its white-washed stone exterior, Tostary Cottage offers a warm and elegant welcome with a light hallway, complete with custom-built cherrywood furniture. The hallway leads onto the living, dining and cooking spaces at the cottage. To the right is a beautifully renovated and well-equipped kitchen with a farmhouse feel, complete with a beautifully restored Welsh oak dining table and benches. A characterful Rayburn rubs shoulders with the contemporary electric oven and induction hob - a theme of the cottage, blending together the best of old with new.

It's a theme that continues throughout the living areas, with the cosy sea view snug's wood-burning stove, antique drinks cabinet and white-washed beams paying homage to the cottage's past. A glimpse through the glazed door invites the phenomenal views from the purpose-built sun room ever closer.

With triple aspect glazing, it truly is a panorama here, with the island's tallest mountain, Ben More, the outlying islands of Ulva and Gometra and miles of rocky shoreline, rugged upland and turquoise water painting the view. Watch pebble beaches appear and vanish at different tidal ranges and the abundance of visiting wildlife that calls this coastal haven home. Golden eagles can regularly be seen overhead, as well as sea eagles, red deer and Highland cattle, not forgetting the local sheep who often like to come and say hello right outside the cottage.

Both the sun room and snug offer oodles of comfortable seating, so whether cosy by the fire or soaking up the late-night summer sun, there's the perfect spot to relax in all of Mull's magic and seasons here. And if the weather is wild, you can watch the drama unfold in comfort.

Also on the ground floor is the cottage's spacious shower room, with heated towel rails, WC, basin and a large shower cubicle.

Follow the storied wooden staircase as it winds upstairs and find both bedrooms snug within the combed eaves. The king-sized master bedroom invites you to wake up each day with a stunning sea view, with beautiful linens, artwork and finishing touches all perfectly in tune with the seascapes beyond the window.

The twin bedroom is a cosy room two, with two single beds, chest of drawers and a wee hanging rail too and sweeping hillside views.

Tostary Cottage enjoys an exceptional setting, with stunning views in every direction. Whether you’re relaxing inside or soaking up the scenery outdoors, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again - and may struggle to leave at the end of your stay.
