Things to Do
Although situated near other houses, once inside, the cottage faces the sea, so privacy is maintained. The airfield in front of the house is far from busy and it is exciting watching the handful of planes that might arrive and land in the field in front of the house. You can walk across the field (watching for traffic!) to explore the coastline which has rocky outcrops and a shingle beach shoreline.
Glen Forsa extends inland towards the mountain Beinn Talaidh. This is one of Mull's most beautiful areas for walking and mountain biking and is a great place to see wildlife.
The village of Salen is only a five minute drive from the house which has a good Spar shop with post office, hotel serving meals and cafes. There is also a hotel (licensed) within easy walking distance of the house which lunches and evening meals during the summer months. Tobermory is a twenty minute drive north, with its beautiful harbour, shops, eateries, distillery and arts centre.
The west coast of the island, where there is less habitation and stunning mountain scenery, is a short drive from Tigh Bhan. Loch na Keal is a fantastic area for wildlife and walking opportunities and a boat trip or wildlife tour during your stay is a great idea to help you appreciate the abundance of wildlife the Isle of Mull has to offer.
