The cottage was a great example of style over substance. The décor was unusual but that would have been OK if the facilities had been better. The TV was very old and barely worked. The cooker was also old as were the pans which were non stick but heavily scratched as only metal utensils were provided. The frying pan was no longer flat on the bottom and hence cooked unevenly. I had it mend the handle before use as it could have been unsafe if I had not done so. Due to the large number of strange artifacts there was no space to store food. As such the cottage was not good value for money a

Editor's Note: Reply from the owner: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear the style of the cottage was not to your taste. The cooker was purchased new and was first used in April 2021. We provide stainless steel and non stick pans, including four different frying pans. Sorry you were unable to work the television, we would have been happy to help had you contacted us (our contact details are provided if guests need any assistance).

We had a wonderful time at The Potting Shed. The accommodation was very clean and well equipped. Our weather was mixed but always we had an excellent view from the cosy sitting room. Dervaig is well located with good access to all coastlines in the north and inland. Journeys to the south are also perfectly fine.
All in all, it is a great place to stay.

Excellent property. Comfortable, tasteful decor, great bath. All you need for a good stay in Mull. Shop in Dervaig is excellent and Ar Bord is a great dining experience just a walk away.

We came back to this lovely property after our stay here last year. This time we stayed for two weeks and still didn’t want to leave. Everything we needed and more. We managed to get to eat at Ar Bord which was another hi light. Fabulous accommodation, magical island hope to be back soon.

A gorgeous property with lovely fixtures, imaginative fittings and unique cool features in a tranquil location with amazing views. It is ideally placed for trips across the island but the village and surrounding area have plenty to see and do. Sally and Graeme were great hosts and create beautiful artwork, some of which is in the property. Also good were the local hotel and restaurants which were of high quality. I hope to return!

A truly amazing vacation with weather to match. Arrived the week after the rally which was fortuitous for getting around. A few places however had closed after the event.
Sally was kind to help me out on arrival as I had left it late it was dark and lost my way.
The Potting shed had everything one needed, was spotlessly clean with lashings of hot water.
The bed was slightly uncomfortable for me but that is understandable as not one mattresses will suit all.
Thank you for everything for both the Potting shed my base, the island.and the nature.

Spent a lovely week at the Potting Shed, despite the weather. The place was beautifully designed with all one could want for. Fantastic views and scenery from the property. Would have been lovely to sit outside, had the sun been shining. Nice pub in the village, and were lucky to be able to watch some of the Mull car rally from the end of the drive, which we knew nothing about until our arrival. Sally and Graeme were friendly hosts recommending places to go and eat. Ate an enjoyable meal at Am Berlinn. Visited the island of Iona, and went to the Abbey, which would highly recommend.

We had an amazing week in Mull made better by our lovely accommodation, everything we needed and more.
Sally and Graham were fabulous hosts and made us feel very welcome giving us lots of tips about places to eat and places to visit. We were very lucky with the weather and managed to miss any showers. We enjoyed several meals out Am Birlinn and Croft 3 being outstanding.
The island was 'balm to the soul' and left us feeling peaceful and energised.
We would definitely recommend and really hope to be back soon.

WOW!!!! What a place , we had a fantastic week in luxurious accommodation, very tastefully decorated with beautiful artwork throughout.
Sally and Graeme were the friendliest, professional, knowledgeable hosts greeting us on arrival with the warmest welcome.
We stayed in the potting shed which had absolutely stunning views, couldn't help just sitting looking out at.
We were little unlucky with the weather last week but that didn't tarnish our holiday in the slightest.
We saw the most stunning beaches while there that could hold up against any Greek Island.
Thank you for an amazing holiday .x

This property is in a fantastic location and was just as described. It’s a cosy, beautifully decorated and very well appointed property. Our hosts Sally and Graham were very friendly and so welcoming. The village has everything you need a great pub as well as a very well stocked village shop and post office, and The Olde Byre is well worth a visit.
Dervish is a great base for a holiday in Mull, with so many wonderful places to explore close by including Calgary and Croig.
We loved the area so much we’ve booked our 6th trip for next year.

An absolutely wonderful property in a beautiful location. We enjoyed a peaceful Easter in The Potting Shed, and will come back again. Thanks, Sally and Graham, for being such welcoming hosts. Dervaig has all the essentials and the cottage is not far from Tobermory if you fancy a tour of the distillery. Calgary Beach is a quick trip down the road. Highly recommended!

The cottage was perfect, the weather incredible, our hosts delightful. Mull was so much more wonderful than we had even expected. Abundant wildlife, fabulous walks and a touristy but superb boat trip rewarded us with close up encounters with puffins. Seals, sea eagles, golden eagles, hares and so many varied sea and land birds. Enjoy!

This charming cottage is smaller than it looks in the pictures and could benefit from some upgrades. However, the setting is beautiful and the small village of Dervaig is conveniently situated for exploring the north end of the island. It has a small PO/general store, a pub and a deli open for a few days in the week. There is an exceptionally great restaurant called the Am Berlin which serves locally sourced dishes.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable, great views and so peaceful and quiet. We were lucky to have mostly good weather for our first visit to Mull, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. We’d love to return to this cottage, and we thought Dervaig was perfect.

The Potting Shed is a cosy and eclectic cottage finished to a high standard. The views are to die for, and the decor reflects the talents of the two artists who are the owners (their studio is next door and can be visited by appointment). The pub is a 10 minute walk and you are within a comfortable drive of Tobermory and Calgary Bay (assuming you take ‘comfortable’ to mean fine views and Scottish ‘bendy’ roads! ). A lovely place, with fine walks and a friendly local shop. We would not hesitate to recommend it.

Stayed here during the first part of our Scottish road trip. Truly beautiful setting and accommodation. So peaceful and quiet. The cottage is cosy and every care has been taken to ensure you have all the creature comforts you could wish for. Well equipped kitchen and lovely decor throughout. Very comfortable bed with a stand alone bath, which was very welcome after a day walking on the Island. The view over the little river estuary I would never get tired looking at. The owner, Sally is very friendly and chatty. Highly recommended if you are looking for accommodation in Mull.

We have to say that The Potting Shed was gorgeous and an absolute delight to stay in. So serene and calm and in a glorious setting. The views from the breakfast table were to die for. Dervaig has just enough for you to enjoy the village and we loved The Bellachory Hotel. The bed at the cottage was lovely and comfortable and after a long day's sight-seeing it was a perfect home to come back too. Really can't praise the accommodation and location highly enough and would 1,000,000% recommend it to anyone. Perfect romantic place for a couple to chill at. Plus Mull is truly magical.

We have spent a lovely at the Potting Shed Situated in Dervaig , just a 10 min stroll to the village centre where you find a well stocked shop/ post office , pub and a little further on a sandwich hut that provides wonderful seafood brioche rolls
The accommodation was comfortable to return to after a long day exploring , with large bed , excellent shower and option of a long soak in a huge freestanding bath
The kitchenette had all of the necessary appliances to prepare meals that we were fortunate to enjoy al fresco while looking out to the beautiful view with a wee dram.

The Potting Shed was everything we hoped for as a base for exploring and walking on Mull. It is very tastefully decorated with the bedroom, with its huge bath and large comfortable bed, being a particularly attractive room. Sally was both welcoming and unobtrusive. Dervaig is a lovely little village with as others have commented a well stocked and friendly shop, a Hotel/Pub with outdoor area and a high quality sandwich outlet. We would certainly return to the village and the Potting Shed if visiting Mull again.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful position with a comfortable bed, great shower & everything else we could need. We had a fun week exploring the island in stunning weather & enjoyed a take away meal from the pub in the village. We found eating out was a little difficult due to Covid & the market in Tobermory sold out of some foods early. We needed better planning.
The people & wildlife of the island made up for any food deficit !

Spent a week here with my 10 year old daughter and loved it. The accommodation is spotless, the location perfect and the hosts friendly and helpful. The local shop is surprisingly well stocked. Mull is a beautiful island with a stunning view around every corner and should be on everybody's bucket list. Combine the wonders of Mull with the comfort and convenience of the Potting Shed and you cant go far wrong!.

The Potting Shed is a wonderfully cosy place to stay with beautiful quirky decoration and the tub is fabulous after a long days walking. The owners are welcoming and very helpful and the information sheets inside the property are very informative giving some top tips for things to do, places to eat etc. There are great views from the window to watch the wildlife whilst having breakfast. Dervaig is a good base for exploring the island with a well stocked shop and nice pub just a short walk away.
