Tobermory Explore the area, things to do and more

The inviting, homely feel of Stronbeag Cottage and its great position in Tobermory make it a popular choice for a holiday on Mull. Being situated in the island’s capital, guests have access to some fantastic eateries, can make the most of the whale watching and boat trips departing from the harbour, and are within easy reach of the arts centre and theatre.

With character, tranquillity and sea views a plenty, while still having so many island attractions on the doorstep, Stronbeag Cottage makes an ideal base for family holidays to the island.

As you enter the property, there is a handy boot room that leads through into the main living area. The living room is a wonderfully atmospheric space, with white-painted beams, wooden flooring and a feature wood burning stove. Guests will also find the good-sized kitchen on the ground floor, which is well-equipped for self-catering on Mull. There’s also a delightful dining area, seating six, leading onto the sunny conservatory with views over the garden. Conveniently, a shower room with a w.c and basin is also located downstairs.

Upstairs, the hallway leads to two double bedrooms, one king-sized and one a standard double, as well as a twin room and family bathroom. The master bedroom, in particular, has lovely views of the sea, so be sure to claim it quick if you’re travelling in a group! Bed linen is provided for your stay, and guests are asked to bring their own towels.

This holiday cottage is spacious, light and well furnished, with lots of homely touches, such as a bookcase and a variety of games in the conservatory. Wireless internet access is also provided and there is a long garden at the front of the house. This well thought out holiday cottage has solar cells on the roof, which provide heating and electricity from a renewable source.

There are several walks that start close to the cottage. The coastal trail heading out from the north end of Tobermory harbour follows a beautiful section of wooded coastline to a scenic lookout marked by a lighthouse. Another trail goes across the golf course in upper Tobermory to a high point with panoramic views. For the younger members of the party, just a few minutes’ walk from the door is Tobermory’s play park. With something to appeal to every member of the family, and so many exciting adventures to be enjoyed nearby, this makes a great holiday cottage for your next family holiday.
