Seabrae Cottage is a stone built cottage located in a wonderful position overlooking Tobermory harbour on Argyll Terrace. This lovely fisherman's cottage has a well maintained little gated garden to the front (across the road from the house), and from here you can take in the fine views across the harbour and Calve island towards the hills of Morvern.
The front door of Seabrae leads into the open plan kitchen and dining area, which is well equipped for self-catering. The dining table and chairs are perfectly placed so that you can enjoy the sea view whilst sitting down for a meal, or cup of coffee. Next to the kitchen is the living area; a fairly compact room, but filled with lots of natural light, thanks to the double sash windows that also face the sea. Comfortable seating, homely furnishings and neutral colours, make this a relaxing and inviting space.
Stairs lead upstairs from the kitchen and dining area to a landing. From here you access the main family bathroom: a generous room fitted with a bath, shower unit, basin and w.c. To the front of the cottage is the main double bedroom which has lots of storage for belongings and lovely views over the garden and Tobermory harbour. A second double bedroom on the adjacent side of the cottage also benefits from the same views. There is a third single bedroom to the rear of the cottage too. The house therefore sleeps five in total, but we suggest it is best suited to a maximum of four, given that the kitchen and living room are relatively small (depending on your preferences and group).
From Seabrae, there is easy access to the harbour front from Argyll Terrace, using one of the pedestrian short cuts that lead down to Tobermory harbour, just opposite the Arts Centre. It's a short but steep descent. You can then explore the excellent range of shops and places to eat, serving delicious local produce. Of an evening, you can enjoy a meal at one of the excellent restaurants or have a wee dram in one of the village pubs.
Boat trips depart from the pontoon at the southern end of the harbour, taking people out to visit Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, as well as whale watching trips. Tobermory has a good network of walks too. You can head out from both sides of the harbour following the coast. One path leads to Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse, and the other side takes you to Aros Park with many beautiful waterfalls and maintained paths to explore.
Tobermory also has a golf course with an exceptional setting; a lively Arts Centre which hosts exhibitions and music events (An Tobar - a few hundred yards from your doorstep); and there is a theatre on the outskirts of town with regular performances during the summer months. Calgary beach is thirty minutes to the west, and is deservedly regarded as one of the island’s best beaches.
