Loch Scridain Explore the area, things to do and more

With great views from every window, you’ll find it hard to venture much further during your stay at Ormsaig cottage. From its perch above Loch Scridain, Ormsaig offers a great place to set up a tripod and watch for the island's famed wildlife. The view takes in the mountains of Mull, including Ben More, the wilderness peninsular and ocean views, with Coll and Tiree visible on the horizon. The water, open land and mountains surrounding the cottage offer a wealth of habitats for wildlife, giving guests here brilliant opportunities to see Mull’s famed and varied sky, sea and land inhabitants.

Sleeping nine, this cottage on Mull makes a great place to get together with family, yet proves itself popular with couples too. The spacious living room has a wonderful open fire, comfy furniture and a piano. With such a charming interior and incredible setting, it’s little wonder why this cottage is so popular.

The heart of the home is a comfortable and spacious sitting room with an open fireplace, piano and stunning views. There are five bedrooms in the property, sleeping up to nine people in a king-sized double, standard double, continental double, twin room and single room.

There is also a separate dining room with views towards the loch and the Atlantic Ocean, and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, which overlooks the rear garden.

There are large lawned gardens surrounding the cottage with superb, uninterrupted views. Ormsaig Cottage is just a short drive from the village of Bunessan, which is set around a harbour with a village shop, pub and bakehouse. Fionnphort is just a couple of miles further to the west. Venture out this way to set sail to Iona, for its ancient Abbey, or to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles for staggering basalt columns and your chance to see puffins in season.

This is a simple holiday cottage in an enviable location - ideal for those wanting to explore the Ross of Mull, take boat trips to neighbouring islands and explore the stunning beaches on the south of the peninsula.
