Excellent location and very well equipped house. We stayed as party of 4 adults, 2 young children and a dog and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house has everything you can / will need to enjoy your time there and I would highly recommend it. The local walks are incredible and its very close to the beautiful Calgary Bay. We will be returning.

A beautiful, spacious and well equipped property in a stunning location. Despite a wet and windy week we managed some lovely walks especially down to Calgary beach via the Sculpture trail. The entrance hall and utility area were ideal for wet dogs! It was nice to just sit and read and watch the birds and wildlife. We had a fab meal at Ar Bord in Dervaig, both the food and service were outstanding. We look forward to returning to Mull next year.

Fernbank cottage is very spacious and very well maintained and equipped. It is located in an ideal position with fantastic views of rolling hills and landscape. With the living room upstairs with 2 x balconies running off, it was an ideal position to set up the astronomy binoculars. Lots of wildlife to look out for. Very close to Calgary Bay and very hand for a spot of lunch in the Art Galleries. Looking to book again next year.

Fern bank felt like a home from home. Lovely property , clean, comfortable, very well equipped. Great location near to beautiful Calgary Bay and lovely local walks. Glorious weather so we really appreciated the airy balconies - great for spotting deer on the hills and we did spy a white tailed eagle.

What a fabulous and well equipped cottage. We had the most wonderful 2 weeks of rest and relaxation interspersed with some great local walks. A highlight for me was climbing up to Inivea, exploring the ruins and enjoying the fantastic views of Calgary Bay.

Fabulous comfortable, airy, warm and well equipped house. We loved our stay which went far too quickly. Great coastal walks close by, especially around Treshnish point and to Langamull. Loved the neighbours, 2 highland cattle. Saw white tailed eagle fly by the house, 4 otters on our walks, seals in Calgary bay and deer + stags each evening on the hills. What more could you wish for. A fabulous holiday.

This cottage had everything you could possibly need, lovely location with beautiful views, watched the deers every night from our balcony.

Our 2nd stay at Fernbank and everything was as we remembered with everything provided that you could possibly need. We have to inform anyone that the medical facilities on the Isle of Mull are excellent , we unfortunately found out this holiday. but can only recommend for the first class care and professionalism provided and hope one day to return to Fernbank to re=live the holiday we had planned. We know that Fernbank is definitely the place to stay.

Wonderful, comfortable light and airy property. Perfect location as walking distance to Calgary Bay beach. Comfortable beds, nicely equipped kitchen and a calm quiet vibe throughout the property made for a very relaxed
break. We didn’t want to go home.

Fernbank is a lovely, very comfortable cottage with good views and location only a short distance from Calgary beach. The house was well equipped with everything you would need for a relaxing break and to explore the island

Wonderful stay in Fernbank. Weather was fantastic and loved sitting on balcony with glass of wine watching the wildlife. We saw hen harriers hunting in the field and dears in the hills. Calgary beach is beautiful and location is good to visit other parts of island. The accommodation has everything you need and very comfortable and full of light. Would love to return again. Thanks.

Our second time at Fernbank and again an enjoyable stay in this comfortable home for the week. Plenty of room for two couples and dogs (our 5 month old puppy particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the world go by).
It's a great location: Calgary bay and cafe a short walk; Am Birlinn restaurant a 10 minute drive and close enough to Tobermory for a day out (or to stock up).

We really enjoyed staying at Fernbank. The living room/kitchen was very comfortable and warm and we liked sitting on the balcony watching for wildlife. Everything was very clean and tidy and it was good being near the beach and savouring the home baking from bus stop bakes. All in all a great holiday. Thanks very much

This holiday had been booked back in January before anyone knew anything about Covid19 and was for me and my parents dog. My parents ended up coming along as their holiday had been cancelled. We had a fantastic week. The property is well appointed, very light and warm with all the windows upstairs getting so much light throughout the day. The highlight (& main reason for picking the property) was the proximity to Calgary Bay. It is just 10 minutes walk down the hill and fantastic certainly for those with dogs.

Absolutely fantastic all round, stayed here many years ago many times, first time i have been back in over ten years and its still wonderful. Everything you need is provided. Wonderful location. We will be back.

We stayed at Fernbank for a week over the New Year, with our 1 year old and our parents. The property was perfect for us and we had a superb stay on Mull. Even in winter the location 5 minutes from Calgary beach was excellent, so we were able to get outside every day. The kitchen was really well stocked for cooking, the fire kept us cosy and the house was very comfortable. There are excellent walks from the cottage along the coast and up to an old settlement in the hills, and we saw red deer every day, and were even lucky enough to see an eagle fly right past the front gate. Perfect.

This was the first time we stayed at fernbank having stayed in other cottages the last few years. It was absolutely amazing and our party of 6 and two dogs loved it. Well equipped and gorgeous setting. Booked for next year already!

Gorgeous cottage in a great location - 15 minute stroll to the beach (note; up hill on the return walk) only a few minutes stroll to the Art Centre which was brilliant and we made full use of their lovely café. There were 3 adults, 2 teenagers and a little pooch in our party, the cottage provided a well equipped and very comfortable home and base for exploring the north of Mull by car and on bikes

Fernbank was everything we had hoped for. In the best position, with Calgary Bay a short stroll away. Nothing was missed from the property, books, games etc and the kitchen was beautifully thought out.
We had a magic week on Mull, with visits to Staffa, Duart and a glorious whale watching experience, we cannot wait to return!

Fernbank fully matched our expectations. The cottage was in a great location, well equipped, peaceful and comfortable. Only two of us visited with our dog Freddie and so we mainly used the top half of the cottage. The downstairs accommodation was to a high standard and looked perfect for larger groups.

We stayed in Fernbank with our son and father in law, not forgetting our two dogs.
The cottage is spacious and is equipped to the highest standard. Nothing is left to chance and your every comfort is anticipated.
Their is so much to explore on the island, from stunning landscapes to beautiful beaches and what a treat to return in the evening to watch the 20+ deer on the top of the Glen from the picture windows in the lounge. A wee gem of an island and a haven of a cottage, we will return.

Second time we have stayed in Fernbank. Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. Great views from windows and just a short walk to the beach. Will be back.

Everything we needed was provided. The cottage was in a perfect location for exploring, the best beach on Mull, walks and wildlife. With deer on the hillside and an eagle flying right overhead we were really spoilt. The shop is only 10 minutes away and there is a cafe and craft/art gallery and sculpture trail a stones throw away. Thank you for the wine on arrival too.

Delightful well designed spacious cottage in a stunning location close to beautiful Calgary Bay where we took our Labrador dog every day. We saw a large herd of Red Deer from the lounge window one evening which was a magical moment. We enjoyed our week on Mull very much and would love to come again.

Lovely stay at Fernbank. Settled straight away. Home from home with so many extras like books, games, binoculars, washroom. The decking is great on a warm evening and the kitchen had everything we needed. Decor has been freshened up in the living room and really cosy. In saying that we didnt feel like we were in a showhome or gallery. Very comfortable. Every chance we will come back and would recommend for a family of 4 or 5

The cottage itself is wonderful, beautifully furnished and equipped, making a very comfortable stay. The cottage was spotlessly clean. However, we think it is fair to say the photographs of the cottage setting are misleading. The photos suggest the cottage is on its own, meaning that we didn’t recognise the cottage when we got there, as it is very close to 2 neighbouring properties, one of which is directly behind Fernbank and shares the same short driveway. As dog owners, this didn’t leave us with a secure boundary for our dogs. Additionally, the upstairs mattress needs renewing.

We usually visit Mull for 2 weeks in August, this is the first time that we have visited the island out of season and we weren’t disappointed.
This is by far the nicest accommodation that we have stayed in. It has all the extras you could need. Beautifully presented, spacious, fabulous location to explore the island and magnificent views.
We have already booked the next 2 holidays in Mull - accommodation but would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
The wine on arrival was a lovely gesture that was appreciated.

We stayed at Fernbank Cottage over the new year period and we fell in love with it. The location, furnishings, décor; everything was blissful, cosy and warming. The beds were so comfortable that we had the best sleep we've both had in years. It is well presented and clearly well planned out. With the living area upstairs, its large windows provide incredible views of the local area and night sky that really makes staying in just as good as going out. We plan on coming back to Mull, and more than likely we will be hoping to stay here again as we don't think it could possibly be any better!

We had a fabulous week here with our chocolate lab, spent a day in Tobermory, a day in Iona, walked out to Cailleach Point, played down on Calgary beach etc. Fitted so much in as the weather was so good.
House was warm, good showers, lots of storage. Only problems were all the bees & wasps in the fuschia bush running the length of the wall where the dog insisted on peeing as it's close to house (they came indoors a couple of times!) and a lack of baking trays for the oven (minor point)
Mull is beautiful, Fernbank is a great base for exploring & we loved cozying up in front of the fire at nights.
Utility room was handy for wet clothes & the hooks just inside the door were perfect for jackets, dog leads etc.
Lovely in the mornings standing on the wee veranda with a cuppa.
The lovely staff at the cafe down at Calgary Art in Nature boxed up cakes for us on our last day & they were delicious.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, lots of games, books, dvds. Fantastic location. Mull wildlife virtually all on show. Utility great for drying wetsuits etc when it won't stop raining! Lovely close beaches. Squeaky floorboards meant if one person awake so was everyone else. Otherwise 5 stars

We absolutely love Mull and couldn’t think of a nicer place to stay for my 50th birthday than here. Lovely and peaceful with amazing views from cottage. Stayed here with my husband Mum and mother in law plus Alfie the dog and plenty of space. Thank you for another fantastic stay.

We had a lovely stay at Fernbank. Plenty walking without taking the car. Very cosy when we returned from our winter walks. Really enjoyed Mull.

Just a perfect cottage for a restorative winter week. Very well equipped and warm. Great selection of local reference books. Just up the hill from Calgary art in nature and plenty great walking nearby. A wonderful place to stay.

Excellent cottage all facilities very good. Very clean and great to have extra logs for the stove.

We run from loud and crowdy London, to spend Christmas in peaceful place. The house is so warm and welcoming. Whole family loved the look of it and the placement. And views....stunning!

Lovely week in fernbank cottage, it coped with 4 adults, one toddler and 2 dogs easily, very well equipped and comfortable. We loved the location, close to Calgary bay, it was really peaceful with lovely views. Reallly appreciated the downstairs utility for drying off wet dogs after typical rainy mull weather. A great place to stay!

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful location. Fernbank cottage is very comfortable and well equipped & in an ideal location for exploring the north part of the island.
Calgary beach just a short walk from the cottage and Langamull beach not too far along the road.
We took the coast walk from Calgary to Cailaich and were lucky enough to see a golden eagle.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday on Mull and the accomodation made this all the better. Will definitely be back (hopefully soon).

Fantastic property in a great location to explore the island. Calgary beach was a lovely place to start or end the day with plenty of wildlife seen throughout the week. Great walks and exploring undertaken and too many cakes eaten from the great bakery in Tobermory. Missing the views and open space already

Just got home from a fabulous week in Fernbank Cottage. It's was so comfortable and warm (despite the wild weather) and very well equipped. Great to be able to see so much wildlife both from the window and in the immediate area - golden eagles, sea eagles, dolphins, red deer. Calgary Bay is beautiful as is nearby Langamull. Cottage is within easy distance of a good shop in Dervaig and not too far from Tobermory but all single track roads!

Agree wholeheartedly with other comments. Tastefully decorated, very comfy, fully equipped, spacious, wonderful views, mixed weather. Think we managed to visit all of the sights which is pretty good seeing as so much is still operating on winter times. One of the nicest places we have stayed in, very sorry to leave it.

Fabulous cottage with great open plan living area upstairs.
Wonderful views from the large windows and balcony to sit in the sun or watch the stars. Downstairs area great for cleaning and drying the dog and storing boots etc.Calgary beach and café are a short walk. Our first visit to beautiful Mull,such an amazing place,wildlife,scenery and weather were all beyond our expectations.

The cottage was wonderfully equipped and extremely comfortable. The views from the cottage were breathtaking. This was our first time visiting Mull and we had a wonderful time . We saw fabulous wild life and had some very energetic walks - even meeting a bull! We will definitely come again. Thank you.

Having stayed in a number of cottages, this is by far the family favourite, for layout, comfort and equipment. Location suited us as it was quiet and only a short walk to the beach and cafe at Calgary Art in nature. Loved our stay and we will definitely be back. This was our third time on Mull and it's a favourite island of ours ????

Lovely cottage, well presented and well equipped accommodation. Our first time on Mull. Had mixed weather but not a problem. Washing room great for the dogs and the boot room meant we could leave our walking kit downstairs. Loved the space in the property and nice views from the windows. Easy walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend to others.

Can only endorse other reviews made. Cottage was well laid out with everything we needed. Plenty of space for our family of 5 with dog and with a lovely view. Mull is a most beautiful island and we will be back.

Amongst the very best self catering properties we have ever stayed in. Very well presented and equipped. Ideal location for the majestic Calgary Bay with Art in Calgary and good cafe nearby. Area is a little remote from the more populated parts of Mull which we saw as a advantage but should be borne in mind.

Great cottage in a truly awesome location. The cottage was well laid out with entertaining views of the local scenery and wildlife. This is the third holiday in Mull and the two weeks were contrasting, snow, rain then the most amazing sunny weather. The cottage was great in all weathers!

We have stayed in many cottagesin the Highlands and Islands and this has been the best. To say that we were very comfortable does not do justice to the thought that has gone into making this such a wonderful place to stay. We all wished that we had booked for two weeks rather than one.

We found the cottage the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The accommodation was spacious for a holiday cottage. There were 6 adults staying for some of the week and we all had plenty of room and bathroom space to change for family a wedding that took place on Calgary beach. We had a week exploring Mull and relaxing in the cottage and enjoyed every minute.

We have stayed in many cottages over the years, and this was possibly the best equipped of any. It was immaculate and very well maintained. In a superb location, and very well designed, we could not fault it.

A really lovely well equipped cottage. The maps and leaflets were very useful, and helped us to get to know the area quickly. Calgary Bay is delightful, and will stay in our memory as we saw the sea otter there.

Very comfortable and spacious house at a fantastic location on the Island. It really has everything you need and is a great place to come back home to after a day of exploring. We would definitely come again!

A real home from home,we couldn't have chosen a better place, be it the downstairs for your walking gear, the log burner for nights in or the location you won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Fernbank. Proximity to Calgary beach was great. Clean, comfortable accommodation. Only point to note is that although the garden is enclosed the next door neighbours have a shared driveway with the property. Therefore if you have a dog your can't just let the dog out in the enclosed space you would have to keep an eye out.

Fabulous location, perfect for a daily walk to stunning Calgary Beach and the lovely cafe at the Arts Centre. Beautifully kitted out cottage, stylish but homey. Couldn't fault it, we would definitely stay again.
