Craig Ben Cottage has an outstandingly beautiful setting beside Loch Uisg, a freshwater loch that is close to the sea with Loch Spelve to the east and Loch Buie to the west. This picturesque loch is surrounded by rugged hills and mountains and fringed with grassland and woodland. It goes without saying that it is a fantastic area for wildlife and walking. Those looking for spectacular, rugged Scottish scenery will not be disappointed with the rural retreat they find at the charming Craig Ben Cottage.

Sleeping up to six people in three bedrooms, Craig Ben Cottage offers high quality self-catering accommodation on Mull. Set within a spacious lawned garden with a hill burn and pool running through it, there are great views toward the loch and hills. Conveniently, there is also ample parking on the driveway.

Built with both granite and sandstone, this attractive looking cottage has a bright and contemporary interior. A hall leads to the open plan dining and living area. This is a fantastic space with superb views, comfortable furnishings and some nice pieces of antique furniture and original works of art, which all help to make this a very relaxing and pleasant space to spend time after a day out exploring the island.

There are a good range of books and games and a wood burning stove. Double sliding doors lead out to the rear courtyard - a sun trap which has outdoor seating and a barbeque. Settle down here with a mug of coffee or a glass of wine and listen to the chorus of the birds and gentle burble of the burn.

The large dining table comfortably seats six and there are fantastic views toward both the garden and the loch from this room. The kitchen is spacious and well-appointed and also includes a breakfast table. An external door leads out to the rear courtyard too.

Upstairs is a landing from which three bedrooms and the main bathroom can be found. The front double room is spacious with superb views to the loch and hills beyond. The twin room also has loch views and the rear double is a very spacious room with views over the garden and burn. There is also a second bathroom with shower, basin and w.c on the ground floor.

There are numerous superb walks from the cottage door, be it a strenuous hike up to the summit of the rugged Creach Bheinn (698m), or a gentle amble along the shore of Loch Spelve to watch for otters. Cyclists are well catered for, with scenic, single track roads, as are those who like to canoe or kayak on either the loch or sea.

The closest sandy beach is the large sweeping bay of Laggan sands at Lochbuie - a 15-minute drive away. The village of Craignure is a 25- minute drive by car and has a pub, village shop and cafe, as well as the island's swimming pool and spa.
