Our second holiday here in this beautiful cottage. It is simply the best - and we've done lots of s/c holidays. Location, facilities and the warm welcome from Margaret & Dugie make it our dream getaway. We are already looking forward to coming back next year and we've only been home a day!

Despite the poor weather we had a fabulous week on Mull and were delighted with our stay at Butterfly Cottage. A wonderful warm welcome from Margaret, Dugie & Kirsty and a comfy, clean and excellently equipped cottage within easy reach of Salen and Craignure. Lovely views and wildlife from the cottage and around the island. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our time at Butterfly Cottage. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The large lounge window had amazing views over Fishnish Bay, and the garden was well stocked with bird feeders and extra bird food. We had a very warm welcome from Dugie and Margaret.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location which was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. With all the extras it was more like staying in a luxury B & B instead of a self catering cottage.
The wonderful shower and really comfortable bed helped us sleep well all week.
We were made very welcome by Dugie and Margaret who also run the Dervaig PO & stores. They kindly did a grocery shop for us which was waiting at the cottage on our arrival.
Should we return to Mull in the future then we would definitely book this cottage again as this one of the nicest properties we have stayed in.

We have just spent the most amazing week in this beautiful cottage on Mull. Everything was perfect. We have stayed on several cottages on Mull and this was by far the best. It was immaculately clean and well supplied with kitchen cooking utensils etc. There was lovely soap and hand lotion in the bathrooms and kitchen. The view from the picture window in the lounge is amazing and we spent hours watching the birds coming and going and the sea changing colour. The bed is extremely comfortable and the sofas very comfy too. We have just rebooked for next year!

A stunning cottage in a stunning location. Beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need. The cottage is well placed for visiting all parts of the island. Very warm welcome from Dugie.

A stunning, scrupulously clean property in a breathtakingly beautiful location with easy access to both the ferry and all areas you might want to visit. Watching eagles from the living room window will always remain in my memory. The bungalow itself is beautifully furnished with great attention to detail including great swivel arm chairs in the bay window and lovely comfortable beds. Tassimo coffee machine was also a lovely touch. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating, even providing a grocery shopping service ready for when you arrive. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful cottage in excellent surroundings with stunning views across Fishnish Bay and the Sound of Mull.Cottage very comfortable,a home away from home.Modern throughout,beautifully decor,with a fully equipped kitchen and best power shower ever.Swivel chairs at the big picture window are an excellent touch,perfecty placed to watch the wildlife.Deers, Otters,Eagles,the bird feeders in the garden bring in many birds.We had a warm welcome from host Dugie.Unfortunately Mags was busy in thier shop from which they offer a grocery delivery for you when you arrive.Highly recommend Butterfly Cottage.

Such a stunning spot to be, the cottage is perfect in every way for us. Comfortable, warm and cosy with lovely hosts who have thought of everything. The views are stunning, the wildlife abundant (even a hedgehog in the garden and we also saw a butterfly this late in September.) Can't wait to go back and we've booked already.

Immaculate cottage in beautiful surroundings. Picture perfect view of Fishnish Bay and the Sound of Mull from the lounge. Lovely outdoor garden area. Convenient central location in Mull for access to the whole island. Amazing wildlife on the doorstep (deer, otters, eagles).

Second year in a row visiting. Stunning Butterfly Cottage is a luxury home away from home with gorgeous views, tasteful décor and very clean! Owners are very welcoming and helpful. Central location is ideal for seeing all parts of Mull without driving for too long. Close enough to amenities if needed but still rural enough to feel like you are in your own wee cosy retreat. I love that Dugie & Margaret fill the bird feeders in front of the big window as it is a lovely hive of activity to watch while having a coffee in the morning. Wonderful location and spectacular property.

Butterfly Cottage was perfect for our visit to Mull. Immaculate, comfortable and cosy with everything we needed and more. We had a warm welcome from Dugie and Margaret, and really appreciated being able to pre-order groceries through them, ready for arrival.
With the long June days, we spent hours enjoying the view from the huge living room window. The location is perfect for accessing the rest of the island. Wonderful stay and we hope to be back.

Butterfly Cottage is one of the best cottages we've stayed in. The house is so beautifully furnished and Margaret and Dugie are perfect hosts and couldn't have been more helpful. Their offer to provide grocery shopping and have it in situ for when we arrived saved us so much time and was a real bonus. The only downside was we had one week and not two. We will definitely be back, thank you.

Wonderful cottage. Very clean and well maintained throughout. Well equipped and we really appreciated being able to order groceries and having them all placed in cupboards and fridge before we arrived. Dugie was helpful throughout and there to greet us when we arrived. (we didn't get to meet Margaret).

A beautifully decorated, homely, immaculate cottage in a great location. Fantastic owners, great communication, extra touches like having the fire lit on our arrival, just amazing!
Happy to recommend or show photos.. beautiful view from bedroom and living room, rainbows greeted us on our first day. Everything you could possibly need. Plenty of luxury hand washing, toilet cleaner etc.
Easy to explore the island,, we tended to drive to Salen and cut across the island from there.

This is a beautifully decorated and furnished cottage, well equipped, perfectly appointed to allow easy driving around the island, and it was nipping clean! Dugie and Margaret have thought of everything, it was a treat to be able to stay here and we would love to come back again. Highly recommended

A beautiful cottage, very clean and warm and very well appointed. Nice touches all round with the fire lit on our arrival, quality toiletries and a generous welcome pack. The view from the windows down to Fishnish Bay was an endless source of entertainment. The owners were tremendously friendly and supportive, even offering to provide a food delivery on our arrival (they own a store in Dervaig). A central location like this is ideal for exploring the island. We would certainly visit again.

Excellent base for wildlife watching. Only a short distance from the ferry port and good access to the rest of the island.

Absolutely lovely cottage, location and setting. The accommodation is first class and very comfortable. All the facilities are top class and the owners Dugie and Margaret made us feel very welcome. We will most certainly stay again when we return to Mull.

Spotlessly clean, superbly equipped and beautifully situated with views across to the sound of Mull.
Even on rainy days the cottage makes staying there a wildlife watchers haven.

Butterfly Cottage is a fabulous house, beautifully furnished and decorated and spectacularly well equipped. It has excellent outside space, too, much appreciated in the lovely weather we had. The location is superb, very close to the shore with great views and good for wildlife watching. Dugie and Margaret made sure our stay was perfect.

What a glorious cottage! A modern, clean and well kitted out cottage. Not to mention that wonderful view from the lounge window: bird watching and soaking up the views by day but fascinating views of the stars at night. The only entertainment needed at Butterfly Cottage! Owners were very helpful and can arrange for groceries to be in-situ for your arrival. Location is fantastic. A wee walk to the shore or the old road behind the property was a great way to see amazing views. Close to amenities in either Salen/Craignure. Central for visiting any part of Mull. A truly special place to stay.

Butterfly cottage is a lovely house, situated only a few minutes walk from the rocky shore. The interior of the house is very modern, with luxurious throws in the bedrooms. Main bathroom has a power shower and the en suite has a rain shower. The living room has the most spectacular view across the bay, a view we never tired of. We found the owners, Dugie and Margaret very friendly and helpful. We were able to order a full week’s shop from them which they kindly delivered to the cottage for us arriving. This is a beautiful cottage in a great, central location.

I cannot rate this cottage high enough we were greeted on arrival by the very friendly and helpful owners Dugie and Margaret who will take an order from you for grocery provisions and deliver them to you from their very well stocked shop at Dervaig which by the way is well worth a visit during your stay, the cottage itself is absolutely first class, recently renovated to a very high standard it is so bright and clean and very very comfortable, fantastic location between Craignure and Salin with wildlife all around, the cottage is very well stocked, thank you Dugie and Margaret.

What can we say/add to our last review. This was our 2nd stay here since it opened in July which tells you how much we love Butterfly Cottage. Great location, great wildlife and very clean and comfortable cottage. A credit to Dugie and Margaret. Cannot wait until we can return again

As has been said before this is a super cottage in a great location. The owners are very helpful and will do a grocery order from their shop in Dervaig. Everything was so fresh and clean with top quality White Company bed linen and towels and Scotiish Highland Soap toiletries,. Everything was provided such as foil, cling film, washiing up liquid, coffee pods etc.. It didn't matter wnen the weather was miserable as it was such a pleasure to sit in a warm house looking at the view from the picture windows in comfortable chairs. Highly recommend.

Lovely cottage with fantastic views overlooking the bay. It was great sitting in the huge picture window on the swivel seats watching the wildlife. There’s a great track behind the cottage for running/walking with more stunning views. Dugie and Margaret have put a lot of thought into the small details at the cottage, which was very much appreciated. Lovely owners and a lovely cottage.

We stayed here in in July. The cottage has just been refurbished and has been completed to a very high standard. The hosts were also great and the cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We particularly enjoyed looking out of the windows from the lounge, watching the wildlife on the water and in the garden. The location is also perfect, a short drive from the ferry terminal and easy to visit the rest of the island. Thanks again for a great stay.

Met by the lovely owners Dugie & Margaret who have done a wonderful job of renovating this cottage and had some lovely treats waiting for us on our arrival.
Butterfly Cottage has a fantastic location overlooking the bay and the large window with swivel chairs was like having your own wildlife watching hide that was hard to move away from! Views of Otter & Red throated divers in the bay and regular sightings of the Fishnish/Lochaline pair of White Tailed Eagles over the bay & plenty of birdlife around the garden
