The Old Ferry House stands right by the sea at the end of the Grasspoint peninsula with outstanding views across The Firth of Lorne to the Islands of Lismore and Kerrera and then to Ben Nevis and Glencoe on the mainland beyond.
The exceptional setting has to be seen to be believed. Grasspoint is renowned for being a superb place to observe wildlife with guests regularly seeing otters, birds of prey and occasionally dolphins and whales. The coastline is perfect for a relaxing walk or a spot of fishing. A truly stunning place to spend a holiday.
There is a small sandy bay a few yards from the house - while for anyone with a boat, there is a stone jetty right on the doorstep. The house is at the end of the Grasspoint Road, three miles from the 'main road' and close to Grasspoint Cottage.
This is a spacious, old traditional house, in an exceptional setting, which is simply but comfortably furnished to suit its period. Perfect for friends or family to get together. The house has two sitting rooms, the largest of which is situated on the first floor with fantastic views across the water.
The house also features in the film 'When Eight Bells Toll' starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, who stayed in the house during the making of the film.
The house's great location makes it an excellent place to spend time just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Guests enjoy fishing from the pier and cooking their catch at the end of the day, walking along the coastline and spotting birds and wildlife.
