Things to Do

Tobermory is an excellent holiday destination. Walking along the harbour front, you can explore the gift shops and local food on offer. The marine centre sits at one end of the harbour where yachts come and go from the moorings and there is an aquarium open to visitors in the summer months. There is also a museum in the town and an arts centre too, where live music and exhibitions take place. The Mull Theatre is on the outskirts of town alongside Aros park, where there are plenty of footpaths to explore through woodland.

Further afield, Calgary beach can be reached after a 30 minute drive - a beautiful stretch of white sand backed by machair grass, with rocky stretches of coastline on either side. Cyclists, walkers and photographers will be well catered for as the scenery on Mull is wonderfully varied and with lots to explore. Taking a boat trip from Tobermory out to the Treshnish Island, or to look for search out some of the marine life found in the waters here, is a great way to spend a day. Wildlife tours are on offer too, which are particularly good for bird watchers and those wanting to see the otters and sea eagles that the island is well known for.
