Kellan Mill Lodge's situation, on the edge of Loch na Keal is truly fabulous. There aren't many houses on this part of the island and it has some of the best views of the mountains of Mull. The house is just elevated above the coastline. A walk along the shore never disappoints as this area is home to all sorts of birds and wildlife. This is a great holiday cottage for nature lovers, walkers and photographers. The house is less than a 15 minute drive from Salen where there is a cafe, restaurant, village shop, post office, petrol station and pub.

Things to Do
It doesn't get much better in terms of access to the coast than Loch na Keal, with some cottages offering access to the shores from the end of the garden! This is designated by Scottish National Heritage as being a National Scenic Area, and in part an SSSI, which isn't a surprise given the variety and beauty of the terrain in this part of the island, from the dramatic cliffs at Gribun to the undulating hills around Ulva Ferry.
Look out for otters feeding close to the shore and both golden and white tailed sea eagles soaring above. Venture around the loch and you could even spot a peregrine falcon up above! There really is so much wildlife to see…
Stay here and you can make the short trip by ferry to the island of Ulva where there are woodland and shore walks to explore. There's also the beautiful gardens at Lip na Cloiche to visit, heading north up the dramatic west coast of the island. Loch na Keal makes a beautiful base for your Isle of Mull holiday.
