Ardtun Location for Seaview

Seaview is situated in a delightful part of the Inner Hebrides. The Ross of Mull is the largest peninsula of the island of Mull. Small settlements are dotted along the beautiful coastline, with the two larger villages of note being Bunessan and Fionnphort. The beautiful pink granite outcrops, white sandy bays and pockets of scrubby woodland give this corner of Mull a distinctive feel. Seaview is just outside the village of Bunessan at Ardtun.

Things to Do

One of the biggest draws of this area is the fantastic coastline. There are magnificent towering cliffs at Carsaig, where there are great walking trails beside the coast, and groups of wild goats to look out for. Knockvologan is an equally impressive locality near Fionnphort, with granite rocky outcrops and heather covered lowlands backing a series of white sandy bays. The marine life is rich here and it's likely you will at least see a few seals heads bobbing around in the water here, if not an otter, basking shark or porpoise passing by.

There are some interesting places to visit too, influenced by the strong crofting community. Ardalanish is a 1500 acre farm with a weaving mill on the south coast of the Ross, where there is a shop selling the unique blankets and clothing that they produce. There is the Ross of Mull historical centre in Bunessan to visit and you could even join a willow weaving workshop in the area. Wildlife tours are a great way to spend a half or full day where an experienced guide will help you spot some of wonderful birds and mammals that reside here including the sea eagles.

Iona is a short ferry trip from Fionnphort. Visitors tend to make their way along the single track road to the Abbey and learn about the history of this impressive historical building before exploring the shops and places to eat on the return trip. You can also take one of the smaller tour boats out to Staffa and the Treshnish islands from Fionnphort.
