The Tontine is a superb holiday property, sleeping four at Ardtun, in Mull's south western corner. The house is just under an hour's drive from the ferry terminal in Craignure. This fairly remote location on Mull means there is only a small resident population here and peace and quiet prevail. Add to this the rugged landscape, beautiful coastline and prolific wildlife and you have everything you need for a relaxing island break.

Things to Do
There are lots of beautiful beaches in this area of the island, which also has interesting geology and excellent marine life. It is easy access to Iona and other boat trips (such as Staffa and the Treshnish islands) which depart regularly from Fionnphort (fifteen minutes drive from the house). Walkers will be kept busy with out of the way beaches to explore, as well as some rugged coastal paths such as the trek to Carsaig Arches (just under nine miles there and back), or a climb to the summit of Ben More.
The coastline here is varied, from black rocky outcrops on the north coast of the peninsula - perfect for otter watching, to sublime white sandy bays at places like Knockvologan and Kilvickeon where you can take a dip in the (chilly!) aqua blue sea in the summer months or sit with a pair of binoculars and watch out for seals, porpoises, or maybe even a passing basking shark. There are some great options for eating out in this area including the Ninth Wave restaurant (evening meals), Creel Seafood Bar in Fionnphort and the Bunessan Inn in Bunessan.
