The Auchnacraig estate, where all the cottages are located, is just ten minutes drive south-west of the car-ferry terminal at Craignure. The estate is ideally located for exploring all parts of the island. Tobermory, the main village on the island is a 45 minute drive away, as is Fionnphort where boats depart for Iona and Staffa.
It is a farming estate with Highland cows and Black Face sheep on a 4,500-acre peninsula bordering the shores of Loch Don, Loch Spelve and The Firth of Lorne. Much of the estate is a site of Special Scientific Interest due to its diverse geological composition and its woodlands; and it has magnificent views in every direction - particularly towards the mainland where Ben Nevis is visible 40 miles away. It is a truly stunning corner of Mull with an incredibly featureful landscape and many hidden treasures.
Red deer, wild goats, seals and eagles are regularly seen. The Estate has many miles of coastline to
explore. There is also a large freshwater Loch and fishing on the
estate for sea and brown trout can be booked by the day.
