Tobermory Explore the area, things to do and more

For an authentic taste of island croft life, with the charm and attractions of Tobermory within walking distance, Fors Lodge offers the best of both worlds in a welcoming log cabin setting.

Fors Lodge is a wooden building set in lovely countryside alongside Eas Lodge on a working croft just outside Tobermory. This is a secluded and peaceful location that offers easy access to all the amenities of Tobermory, with its arts centre, theatre, restaurants and boutique shops.

The lodge is nestled below a natural rock formation with mature trees leading up the gravel driveway. The outlook and view from the living area, overlooking Calve Island and the Sound of Mull, is truly stunning.

The lodge is fully equipped for self-catering, well-insulated and heated for a comfortable and characterful self-catering stay. The living area is open plan, with a fitted kitchen, dining table and chairs and a comfortable sitting area with flat screen Smart television, perfect to cosy up on a dreich day perhaps with a local dram to try. The numerous windows fill the room with light and it’s easy to pass time admiring the wonderful view from here, or from the charming veranda out front.

From the living area, doors lead through to the double bedroom, bathroom with shower cubicle, basin and W.C. and a second bedroom with two single beds. Bed linen is provided for your stay.

This is a superb setting, being close to Tobermory, whilst having the benefits of the surrounding countryside and a variety of animals on the croft to entertain you! Your hosts will make sure you are welcome as you enjoy your stay surrounded by authentic crofting life on the island.

Just next door to the croft is Aros Park, one of the most attractive features in the Tobermory area. A mostly deciduous woodland, there are many scenic woodland walks, waterfalls and paths to explore, the lochan to traverse, and easy access to the sea too. This area is especially beautiful in the autumn when the leaves turn golden, and in spring when old rhododendrons come into bloom along the driveway into Aros Park.

In addition to having Tobermory close by, the pretty village of Dervaig is only seven miles away, and just a few miles further on are the famous white sands of Calgary Bay. There are plenty of boat trips sailing from the harbour each day, as well as full day wildlife tours to enjoy, ensuring your holiday to Mull is memorable and filled with adventure.
