Prepare to fall in love with this fabulous cottage and its wonderful setting by the sea. Aptly named, Seaview is located right beside the coast in the Isle of Mull’s south west; a sparsely populated area known as the Ross of Mull, and renowned for its excellent coastline, marine life and small crofting communities.
This detached stone cottage is in a private and peaceful position, with a fully enclosed garden. On the approach to the house, guests will find there is a large parking area at the rear of the cottage with a lawned area, as well as a patio with outdoor dining table, and a gate which gives direct access to the sea. Perfect for kayaks or just walks along the shore. It's tempting to park the car and start exploring straight away!
The entrance to Seaview leads to a roomy porch, with coat hooks and storage for belongings. The living room is a spacious room with stunning sea views, framed by the windows. The comfortable sofas and solid wood furniture, makes this a great place to sit and enjoy the view. The cottage is well furnished throughout with some interesting pieces of craft and art work on display to add interest.
There is a separate dining room which is also very nicely furnished, with a dining table and quality tableware perfect for evening meals or a good space to complete that family jigsaw! The bright kitchen has a crisp, modern feel and is very well appointed, with all you need for a self-catering holiday. There are great views from the kitchen sink and there is a separate utility area adjoins the kitchen which is a handy storage space.
A spacious en-suite double bedroom is also located on the ground floor. There is a comfortable king sized bed and plenty of storage space provided. The en-suite bathroom is very well appointed and finished to a high standard with bath (and shower over), basin and w.c.
Upstairs the cottage has a quirky charm with sloped ceilings in the bedrooms. The most has been made of the space, thanks to the large velux windows that have been fitted, bringing in lots of natural light. There is a twin bedroom and a second double bedroom on this floor, as well as a good sized family bathroom with bath (shower over), basin and w.c. There is also a great seating area, ideal for reading a book, or making plans for the next day. Blackout blinds ensure a good night's sleep.
Seaview is situated at Eorabus just a short distance from the village of Bunessan, where there is a village shop and pub (Argyll Arms). Fionnphort (where you can take the ferry to Iona) is a further ten minutes in the car. This area of the Isle of Mull is well known for its beautiful coastline, with many fine sandy beaches to explore close by. Wildlife is abundant too, with regular sightings of seals and eagles from the cottage itself.
