You will find Penmore Mill situated between the village of Dervaig and Calgary beach just off a winding single track road bordered by deciduous woodland. There is an old stone bridge over a burn to cross, just before you reach the property which used to be a working mill.
The property is set around a large courtyard alongside the owner's accommodation and has the added bonus of being within walking distance of Am Birlinn - a family run restaurant serving both lunches and evening meals with a strong emphasis on local produce. It is also only a five minute drive from Penmore to Calgary beach which is a beautiful white sandy bay. There is a gallery and tearoom close to the beach too.
The house itself is a beautiful stone built property and is nicely laid out with lots of good sized feature windows, letting in lots of natural light. Local artwork adorns the walls and there are plenty of interesting features to make this a characterful holiday home. The owners live in the adjacent house, and guests have the option of a complimentary boat trip to Staffa, one of the outlying islands - a fantastic bonus for those staying at the Mill.
On the ground floor there is a good sized living room with comfortable seating, television and DVD player which leads through to the kitchen and dining area with all the facilities you need for self catering. There is also a double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.
Climbing the wooden staircase there is a spacious landing, leading to three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The sleeping accommodation here comprises of a double bedroom, twin bedroom and single room and the family bathroom has a bath with shower over, w.c. and basin.
Outside the property there is good sized decking area with seating. There are some great local walks from the doorstep and excellent cycle routes too. Dogs are made welcome - it should be noted that the owners have their own dogs too.
The village of Dervaig is a short drive from the house where essentials and more can be purchased from the excellent village shop and post office. Tobermory is a twenty five minute drive away for shops, places to eat and the arts centre, theatre and golf course.
