Kate's Cottage is reached by driving up a gravel track after turning off the coastal road on the east side of the island. The section of coast close to the cottage is very picturesque, where the River Aros meets the Sound of Mull. it is mainly rocky, with skerries offshore where seals and otters are regularly seen.

Situated on an estate with a working farm, this charming Isle of Mull holiday cottage has parking available just outside the door and has an enclosed garden which enjoys an elevated position with countryside views and the Sound of Mull visible in the distance. There is a picnic bench outside for guests to use.

Entering through the front door, the entrance porch is useful for shoes and coats and the hallway leads to the kitchen and living room on the ground floor. The fitted kitchen has a dining area suitable for morning coffee or an evening meal, and the living room has an open fire, comfortable seating and televison with freeview channels and dvd player.

Climbing the staircase, the hall upstairs leads to the double bedroom, twin bedroom and family bathroom with basin, toilet and bath with electric shower over. Bed linen and towels are not provided as standard, but can be provided for an additional charge of £10 per head (you can request this extra on the booking form).

A track to the side of this holiday cottage leads to the remains of an iron age fort up on the hill behind the house, and is a great vantage point. Guests can also follow a track from the cottage door, across fields and through woodland, to the nearby village of Salen (twenty minutes walk). Here you can enjoy an evening meal at the pub or restaurant. Salen also has a village shop, post office, bike hire and petrol station.

Kate's Cottage is perfect for those looking for a traditional, stone built property with homely character, in an excellent, central position on the island. It is a firm favourite with returning guests. Tobermory is just a fifteen minute drive north and the west coast of the island and Loch na Keal are close by.

Bed linen and towels can be provided at an additional charge of £15 per head (just fill in you requirements on the booking form).
