Fonn Aline is a charming wooden building dating back to 1900, offering great self catering accommodation on the Isle of Mull. It sits atop a raise beside the coast at the entrance to Aros Estuary, and, being only 50 metres from the shore, has fantastic sea views particularly down the Sound of Mull. This property has a private setting with no neighbouring houses, yet is within a fifteen minute walk of the village of Salen where there are shops, eateries and a local pub.

Fonn Aline has a covered walkway at the entrance which opens up into a large hall. On the ground floor there is the living room with open fire, large windows with great sea views and dining table; kitchen with breakfast table and utility, a single room, double bedroom and the bathroom. The winding stairs lead to another twin bedroom and a single room, with the property sleeping six in total.

The cottage has a large enclosed garden with ample parking which occupies a sunny position and has a picnic bench for outside dining. The inside of the cottage is wooden lined and traditionally furnished, making it homely and characterful and is a popular choice with those returning to the estate on a regular basis.

There are some fine walks from the cottage door. Exploring the local coastline will be rewarded with sightings of otter and seals who bask on the local skerries. A short walk round the Aros estuary is rewarded by some fine views from the ancient ruin of Aros castle, and another walk with an historical note climbs the hill behind Fonn Aline to an iron age fort from which you can gain panoramic views of the island.

A 15 minute car ride brings you to Tobermory where there are excellent dining and shopping opportunities. The village of Dervaig is a twenty minute drive away, with the superb Calgary beach being a further 10 minutes on from there.

This a characterful, private self catering property, fantastic for families, and in a great location to explore the whole island from. Bed linen and towels can be provided at an additional charge of £15 per head (just fill in you requirements on the booking form).
