Brightwater Lodge is a spacious self-catering holiday cottage set on the hillside in the Isle of Mull’s south east. This detached property has superb panoramic views over the sea and surrounding mountains. The house sits within a large garden area with ample parking for three or more cars. There is a sheltered carport – perfect for storing your bikes or kayaks.
Entering the property, there is a large utility room with lots of space to store coats and belongings. From here you walk through to the open plan kitchen and dining area. This is a very bright room with a series of windows framing the sea views. The kitchen has a sleek, contemporary feel and is very well equipped with all modern appliances, including a built in double oven and large fridge and freezer. The great layout of this room means you can be cooking and talking with family at the same time, and the wood burner gives the room a cosy feel during evening meals.
The living room is also on the ground floor and is another very spacious and bright room with lots of natural light and views to enjoy. The room is well furnished with comfortable leather sofas, a bookcase and coffee tables, as well as a great selection of books and DVDs with a real flame gas fire adding to the ambience. There is also a very good range of toys for children provided, so families are well catered for.
From the ground floor hallway you access a bathroom with a large walk in shower unit, basin and w.c. and there is also a lovely double bedroom with king sized bed on this floor too. A striking staircase leads upstairs, where there is a hallway leading to the four further bedrooms and a bathroom. The master double bedroom is a huge room with beautiful views over Loch Don and toward the mountain Sgurr Dearg. There are also three separate single bedrooms, each of equal size and with great views . A large family bathroom is located upstairs with a walk in shower, large bath, w.c. and basin.
Guests staying at Brightwater Lodge will really appreciate the high standard and comfort of this contemporary home which is beautifully presented for guests and an ideal choice for a family holiday on Mull. The house has a lovely setting with great views from the garden.
Guests can visit Duart Castle, with its 13th century keep and grand hall, which is just a mile or so from the house. You can take a tour of the castle, walk the grounds and visit the tearoom too. This corner of Mull is well known for its amazing wildlife around Lochdon and Grasspoint in particular, so don't forget to bring your binoculars. Lochdon offers some nice walking and the more energetic can climb Dun da Gaothie one of Mull’s best ridge walks, offering superb views over the sea and mountains of the mainland.
Craignure is the closest village to Brightwater Lodge, which has a useful shop, café and pub, where lunches and evening meals are served. Tobermory, Mull’s main town to the north, is around 45 minutes drive away, where there are plenty of shops and eateries to enjoy. Travel to Fionnphort, where you can catch the ferry to Iona, also takes around 45 minutes by car and is well worth a visit, with its historical abbey and beautiful sandy beaches.

Kitchen and Dining Room: Kitchen open plan with dining area. The kitchen has a built in electric oven and gas hob, large fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. There is a wood burning stove in this room too.
Utility Room: Great utility room on the ground floor with washing machine and dryer. Extra space for coats and boots here too.
Bedrooms: One double bedroom on the ground floor with king sized bed. Master double bedroom with king sized bed and far reaching views on the first floor and and three further single bedrooms. All bedrooms are a good size with furniture for your belongings.
Bathrooms: There is a bathroom on the ground floor with large walk in shower, basin and w.c. and on the upper floor there is a family bathroom which has a bath, shower cubicle, basin and w.c.
Garden and Exterior: There is a large car port attached to the house which provides covered parking for two cars. The large garden surrounds the house and is fenced with lawned areas and some shrubs.
Heating: Oil fired central heating. There is a wood burning stove in the kitchen and logs are provided. Gas fire in the living room.
Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and towels are provided.
