If your idea of the perfect holiday house, is one that combines amazing sea views; a spacious interior and a fabulous hot tub in which to relax (while admiring the sunset), then look no further than Bayview House!

Set above Loch na Lathaich near the village of Bunessan on the Ross of Mull, Bayview House sleeps up to eight guests, but is equally well suited to a couple or smaller group seeking a slice of luxury. This is a great area from which to explore some of Mull’s finest beaches; visit the beautiful Isle of Iona; or take a boat trip to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles.

The drive to the house from the ferry terminal is a spectacular one. The single track road that winds through Glen More, with its steep mountains and sweeping moorlands, is very dramatic. After reaching the village of Bunessan, it is just a little further on to Bayview House, where there is plenty of parking on the driveway and a spacious porch for boots, coats and belongings.

Guests will be struck by the warm and comfortable feel of this immaculately presented house. The impressive open-plan kitchen, dining and seating area is a fantastic living space which is great for a larger group to spread out in. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay, and there is a useful breakfast bar too - a good place to start making plans for the day. The dining area is light and airy and leads via an arched opening, to a lovely seating area with sea views. Double doors open to the timber decking where there is a picnic bench provided for outdoor dining.

The separate living room is another well furnished room with comfortable sofas, games, books and a music system - a great space in which to relax and enjoy the panoramic views over the loch, from the large bay window. A wood burning stove adds a cosy feel during the evening but, the house is always warm, thanks to the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor.

The ground floor hall leads to a twin bedroom with sea views. Quality bedding and towels are provided for guests. There is also a ground floor bathroom, equipped with a shower unit, basin and w.c. From the hall is the front porch which leads to the front garden. Here you find the jacuzzi hot tub that seats six, and is perfectly located to take in the wonderful sea views, sunsets and starry night skies.

On the first floor of Bayview House there are three more bedrooms, all very spacious in size, with storage space and wall mounted televisions in each of these rooms. The master double is very large with an en-suite (with shower, basin and w.c.) and perfectly framed views over the bay. Across the large landing area is a second double bedroom, again with sea views. There is a large twin bedroom that has views of the surrounding hills to the rear of the house. In the family bathroom, there is a bath, basin and w.c.

Lots of care and thought has gone into the property, ensuring all you will need think about is relaxing, enjoying your holiday and exploring the island.

Bunessan is the closest village, just five minutes away with a bistro, public bar and a couple of shops too. Fionnphort, another village, just a little further west, is 15 minutes from the house and also has a pub, a highly acclaimed restaurant and is the place you catch the ferry to Iona which also has a great selection of eateries and walks to enjoy, as well as the historic abbey.

The southern coastline of this area of Mull offers some of the best white sandy beaches you’ll find on the island. From vast stretches like Ardalanish, to secretive little coves, you’ll love exploring the area. To the east are dramatic cliff at Carsaig and the high mountains of central Mull, including Ben More the highest point on the island. The area around Bayview House is a haven for wildlife with regular sightings of birds of prey including hen harriers and eagles, red deer, otters, seals and the occasional dolphin too.
