Achnacraig Cottage is a stone built farmhouse nestled along the flank of Glen Bellart, a short distance from the picturesque village of Dervaig in north western Mull. Sleeping up to six people this is a well equipped, spacious holiday cottage that is traditionally furnished with huge oak beams, stone arches and an inglenook fireplace.

Entering into the hall, to the left is the main living room. This spacious room has a beautiful inglenook fireplace, comfortable furniture and a separate dining area. There are a selection of books and games provided, and windows on both sides of the room have an attractive outlook. A wall opening to the kitchen creates an open plan feel. The kitchen is separate, well equipped and overlooks the main living room. The bedrooms are all located upstairs, a master double and two twin bedrooms all lead off the main landing.

Achnacraig is nestled in mature gardens which guests are welcome to use and enjoy during their stay. The well tended lawns, beautiful planted flower beds and mature trees make this a lovely outdoor space in which to relax, and take in the views of the surrounding hills. In the surrounding paddock are the animals which live on the croft. There are sheep, geese, and Hector and Hamish, the resident donkeys.

This is a lovely area of the island. A scenic fifteen minute drive from the holiday cottage leads to Calgary bay, one of the island's best beaches. The local village of Dervaig just five minutes away in the car, has a very well stocked, friendly village shop and post office, and is home to Mull’s oldest inn which serves food too. This area of the island has some beautiful coastal walks and beaches. It also provides ample opportunities for seeing the island's abundant wildlife. Heading south from Achnacraig, the island's east coast and village of Salen is soon reached. Here you will find a petrol station, shops, post office, cafe and restaurant.

The cottage is insulated to the highest of standards and as a result, it is a warm house in which to relax, no matter what the weather. Achnacraig is an original farmhouse dating from when the property was a working farm. The only other occupied building here is the owner's home which adjoins the cottage, off the main square. Two courtesy mountain bikes (adult size) are provided for use during your stay, a nice way to explore the glen.
