This is such a beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings. We loved it from the moment we stepped inside. The kids found it very ‘cool’ and we loved the art and ‘quirky’ interior. A hidden gem. We would love to return again soon.

Fell in love with this cottage. Felt very much at home. Very generous supply of cooking utensils including the classic Kitchen Aid. Garden was heaven for our Labradors. Beds extremely comfortable. Very romantic listening to our very own babbling brook at night. Fantastic location. ..well we could go on and on because this place seeped into our hearts!

The cottage and gardens are lovely. The front garden is private and sunny and the house warm and welcoming. It is near to Ulva, which we highly recommend. Everything from the crossing, the island walks and the amazing seafood at The Boathouse is fabulous.
There are two fifteen minute walks from the cottage to very scenic spots. Turn right on the road and left through the gate, just after the bridge for the beach or, left then right through the gate opposite the next collection of properties, for a very pretty ruined cottage and pier.
Everything was perfect for a peaceful and restful stay.

A beautiful cottage set down a little track, very private and secluded. The aga in the kitchen warms the whole house through, which is very welcoming after a walk.
We loved the quirkiness of the cottage, the decor so interesting, we loved it.
We walked down to the local beach a few times to see the highland cows, the area is just stunning. It’s a good base for seeing the island, loved the Ballygown restaurant and the Dervaig bakery.
Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful home.

Lovely cottage, great Aga and warm rooms, bed is really comfortable as well, lovely location, really great overall.
BUT the only issue is the access track from the road. There are large and very deep pot holes which when filled with water are difficult to negotiate. We have a small van with a relatively high wheel clearance but with a lower car it would be difficult if not impossible to get along the track. We would certainly like to visit again but only knowing that the track has been improved.

We had a great holiday staying at Achleck Cottage. We were spoilt with the wonderful heating system of Aga,, central heating and wood burning stove. The joy of the warm kitchen whatever time of day or night. . Charlie was in heaven and his pre breakfast walk of over the burn up through the woods and on to the moors and then exploring wider afield the headlands, rocks and diverse beaches of Mull during the rest of the day. . There was a slight hiccup with the satalite reception but the housekeeper and owner were so helpful and responsive to sorting things out. An all in all wonderful holiday . We will definitely be back at this cottage when there's vacancies.

Lovely cottage BUT before you book PLEASE ring and check that it has a working smoke alarm (been broken for months according to the visitors book and been reported to both agent and owner) and has a carbon monoxide detector (has none at present and again, this has been pointed out by previous visitors this year). The boiler smelt strongly of fumes and again, previous visitors noted it in the visitors book and reportedly told the agency also. I have emailed this agency today who have passed it back to the landlord. I just hope somebody takes it seriously so visitors don't have to worry when they stay. Basic landlord responsibilities really.
The island was beautiful and the locals all so friendly and helpful. The guys on the ferry were fab as was the pool attendant at the Isle of Mull hotel and spa pool. We'd recommend a stay.

Editor's Note: There may be comments in the visitor book, but we haven't been contacted directly by guests about these issues. We have spoken to the owner who will address these immediately. The Aga in the house has been serviced this year.
Really lovely, cosy cottage. We loved it. But there were issues with lights not working, problems with sockets and the shower not working which had been flagged by previous visitors and still not fixed. However, we hope to return as we just loved the cottage and the island.

The cottage is so warm, cosy and comfortable we felt totally relaxed the minute we arrived. The bed is the most comfy ever in a rental! The kitchen could do with a few 'extras' and it definitely needs a new non stick frying pan! The garden is huge and our dog loved it. We loved this cottage and we totally loved Mull and plan to return next summer for 2 weeks. Cant wait!

This is a lovely cottage in a pretty setting. The AGA is great , the bed was comfy. The decor is rustic so you feel relaxed and don't need to wipe your feet so much. The place could do with some money being spent on it. Dripping tap, shower scalding or cold, fridge next to kitchen not in it, The kitchen is well equipped but a little bit more expenditure would have made it work better ie somewhere to store dry goods in kitchen and better surfaces. We had a great holiday and grew to love this cottage

The cottage, grounds and the Isle of Mull are definitely food for the body, mind and soul. We loved every minute. Even though the season is 'closed' the week was fully open and generous in its refueling capacity! Barney our dog loved the garden and Calgary Beach - sea, sand and chasing rabbits!

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Very tastefully decorated and furnished. We stayed the week before Christmas so the weather was changeable but it really didn't matter. Mull is breathtaking regardless of whether the sun is shining and Achleck was a warm and cosy haven to return to. We loved every minute of our holiday and will definitely be returning.

Extremely homely and relaxing, if you want fitted carpets and feature walls this isnt the place for you. If you want authenticity and comfort that you could imagine as your own then it is. The garden must be heaven for kids to explore. Dont miss the Ballygown restaurant down the road, it feels like a room in someone's house.....because it is.

What an amazing cottage! Beautifully decorated and furnished, attention to detail immaculate. We loved the Aga too and the burn in the garden was spectacular, especially in spate. Everything makes for a very comfortable stay, particularly the beds! We will be back, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage.

we absolutely love this cottage. The Aga was a luxury, the gardens beautiful and generally comfortable and welcoming. Mull is glorious and wildlife abounds. I saw a cuckoo at the back of the house on the moor - wonderful. We will definitely return. Thank you.

The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location and is equipped with Everything you could wish for. I had never used an Aga before but loved using the one in the cottage. There is no mobile 'phone reception in the area but there is free wifi in the cottage. Loved the lots of extras - books, fire in main living room, central heating if needed, utility room. I cannot imagine anyone not being totally comortable and happy there whatever the weather.

A lovely cosy, quiet cottage, perfect to return to after a day exploring. The attention to detail is great and the cottage has been well restored. It is well located, and saw wildlife from the garden and from Black Beach which w walked to (15 mins walk) nearby. There is no phone signal here but the WiFi is useful when trying to arrange trips, the aga was excellent and enjoyed sitting ours is next to the river. Lovely, cottage hope to return one day.
